Community Service

The DAR encourages community service by all members on all levels as a means of honoring our heritage. DAR members throughout the country contribute millions of hours of volunteer service every year.

Our chapter has a special concern for homeless veterans here in Asheville. One of our ongoing service projects is supporting the Veterans Restoration Quarters (VRQ), a program of Asheville Buncombe Community Christian Ministry. We are presently supporting the creation of a computer lab for the VRQ, assisted by a Special Projects Grant from the NSDAR.
