Membership

Edward Buncombe Chapter NSDAR welcomes potential new members. Regular meetings take place at 11:45 a.m. on the second Tuesday of each month from September through May. Please contact us for an invitation to visit one of our chapter meetings. By attending a meeting, you will meet members who have the experience to assist you in achieving your goal of membership in the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution.

Any woman 18 years or older who can prove lineal, bloodline descent from an ancestor who aided in achieving American independence is eligible to join the DAR. She must provide documentation for each statement of birth, marriage, and death, as well as of the Revolutionary War service of her patriot ancestor. We will be happy to assist you in assembling the necessary documentation.

Service isn't limited to military service. It includes such things as serving on a jury or being justice of the peace, as well as providing money, equipment, or supplies to the Revolutionary War cause. You can find more information here.
