Welcome!

We are delighted that you are visiting the website of the Alexander Martin Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR). Our chapter is located in High Point, North Carolina, the Furniture Capitol of the World!

Our meetings are held on the second Tuesday of the month from September through May. After lunch we have a program. Our programs are varied and include DAR Good Citizen’s awards, American History Essay Contest, historic preservation, service to veterans, and lineage research.

This chapter has a focus on service to veterans, lineage research, and the restoration and preservation of historical architecture. We celebrate Flag Day and Constitution Week with the community.

Restoration and preservation: We have several Daughters who serve on various historic restoration associations. Our chapter lends its support to the efforts of those organizations.
Service to veterans: You will find us visible in the community on Veterans Day, November 11. We have a field of poppies that are seen on Main Street along with signs commemorating our North Carolina Patriots and the servicemen who were killed in action during World War II and the Vietnam War. Additionally, we honor our Vietnam War veterans with a Welcome Home Reception in March of each year.
Lineage research: We are strong supporters of the High Point Library Heritage Research Center. We work with their staff to research our ancestors as well as those of our prospective members.
