DAR members participate in an array of projects to help preserve our cultural heritage, including:
- Restoring and maintaining historical sites
- Locating, restoring and marking Revolutionary War patriot gravesites and headstones
- Organizing and contributing to major restorations, commemorations and memorials
- Preserving genealogical records, artifacts and historical documents

The Crossnore Chapter, NSDAR, celebrates Constitution Week on September 17—23 each year. Mayors from three municipalities sign proclamations recognizing Constitution Week through our efforts. We encourage the study of the historical events that led to the framing of the Constitution in Sept. 1787, to inform people that the Constitution is the basis of America’s great heritage and the foundation of our way of life, and to emphasize United States citizens’ responsibility to protect, defend and preserve the Constitution.
