Activities
The Colonel Robert Rowan Chapter, NSDAR, is dedicated to the mission of the DAR in promoting patriotism, preserving American history, and securing America’s future through better education for children. The chapter sponsors activities in each area of focus including the following:

Daughters thank the Fire
Department for their service.
Historic Preservation
- Provide upkeep for grave of Revolutionary War namesake, Colonel Robert Rowan
- Participate in local historic programs, tours, and events
Promoting Patriotism
- Support U.S. veterans and Fayetteville VA Hospital
- Participate in Wreaths Across America
- Participate in annual flag retirement ceremony
- Participate in Constitution Week at the Market House with commemoration ceremony
Education
- Sponsor American History Essay Contests for local grades five through eight
- Sponsor DAR Good Citizens Essay Contest for local high school seniors
- Support DAR schools
- Present JROTC medals to six local high schools
- Participate in DAR National Day of Service
- Collect books for elementary schools
