The DAR was founded in 1890 as a volunteer service organization for women. The Society has three main objectives: patriotism, historic preservation, and education.
DAR has members throughout the United States and the world. Membership is based upon documented lineal ancestry, linking each member to a Patriot in the American Revolution.
To learn more about becoming a member, visit the National Society web site or contact the Battle of Alamance Chapter Regent.
The Battle of Alamance Chapter was founded March 17, 1928, in the city of Burlington, North Carolina. The chapter currently has more than eighty members with multiple prospective members going through the membership process.
