Welcome to the website for the Liberty Point Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution. We are located in Fayetteville, North Carolina, home to U.S. Army Special Operations and the 82nd Airborne! Our chapter is part of District VII of the North Carolina Society, Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR).
On April 12, 1975, twenty-six ladies met at Green Valley Country Club to sign the charter forming Liberty Point Chapter — a Bicentennial Chapter. The chapter is named for the intersection of Bow and Person Streets commonly known as “Liberty Point.” It was there that the Cumberland Resolves — also known as the Liberty Point Resolves — were signed in June 1775. The signers were a group of fifty-five patriots of the region who pledged their fortunes and lives for the cause of liberty.
We are eager to answer your questions and help you along the path to becoming a member of the DAR. Few adventures in your life will be more rewarding than joining a society that promotes “God, Home, and Country.” The objectives of the Liberty Point Chapter are to promote historic preservation along with encouraging active participation in educational and patriotic endeavors. We invite you to browse through the pages for information regarding our chapter and activities. Prospective members who wish to attend our chapter meetings are invited to contact us for dates and times.
