Today’s DAR video
This video, hosted on YouTube, highlights the vibrant, active organization the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) is today.

Welcome!

We are delighted that you are visiting the website for the Ruth Davidson Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR). We are located in Asheville, North Carolina, and meet monthly on the second Friday of each month from September through June. From young to old, we are a group of women who are focused on historic preservation, education, and patriotism. We welcome prospective members.

Our chapter, established in 1929, was named for Ruth Davidson, a courageous young lady who volunteered to carry important news over uncharted and dangerous terrain on horseback from Pleasant Gardens in North Carolina to the Ninety-Six District in South Carolina during the American Revolutionary War. You can read more about her heroism and courage on this website.

Through the years, the Ruth Davidson Chapter, NSDAR, has been active in many events in Buncombe County and Western North Carolina. Like Ruth Davidson, we stand ready to serve our fellowman and answer the Call to Duty.

If you are interested in joining DAR and want to find out more, please contact us (see menu on the left).
